Dr. Zenglu Li, Associate Professor, Soybean Breeding and Genetics, Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Genomics, University of Georgia

My research program aims to develop soybean varieties with high yield, enhanced seed composition, disease and pest resistance, and herbicide tolerance using an integrated conventional breeding and molecular breeding approach. My research interest also encompasses QTL discovery for traits of interest including biotic and abiotic stress tolerance and seed composition, molecular breeding methodology, and genomic selection for yield to improve breeding efficiency and accelerate genetic gain. We plan to release three new soybean cultivars and four soybean germplasm lines in 2016.
