Scholarships

The NAPB has two established scholarship opportunities to strengthen plant breeding profession by supporting attendance of future leaders at the NAPB Annual Meeting. 

Borlaug  Scholarship - aims to enhance the plant breeding profession by facilitating the participation of promising future leaders in the NAPB Annual Meeting. This program is open to upper-level undergraduate and advanced graduate students enrolled in schools in the United States. Each Borlaug Scholar is matched with mentors who are NAPB members and dedicated to the scholars' professional growth.

George Washington Carver Diversity Scholarship - is sponsored by NIFA and aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by attracting qualified students to the Annual Meetings. The program also provides an additional mentoring component where members can volunteer to support scholarship recipients as mentors.
